There is a forest that doesn't appear on any map.You don't find it by looking. You find it by getting a little lost. It happens after midnight, when the world finally goes quiet. When you've walked far enough that the city lights are gone and your phone has no signal. The air gets cooler. The trees get taller. The path you were following disappears into moss.

And then the ground begins to breathe.

First, one blue light. Then another. Mushrooms pushing up through the dark earth, glowing from the inside like they swallowed a piece of the sky. They don't grow in a line. They grow where someone once stopped to make a wish.Above them, fireflies rise. Not fast like in the summer. Slow. Golden. Like sparks that forgot how to fall. They hang in the air and watch you.

The moon is always there in that forest. Not white. Gold. Low and close, like it's listening. It lights the mist that rolls low between the trees, and for a moment, everything is soft , the leaves, the shadows, the thoughts you brought with you.No one goes to that forest to find something. You go to remember something. That there is still magic that doesn't need to be explained.

That some things glow brighter the darker it gets.

That you can be small under a huge sky and still feel like you belong exactly where you are.

That forest lives in all of us. Most people pave over it. We decided to wear it.
